Control over gaming business strengthened in Rostov region 19.10.2007
On October 17th the Rostov region Legislative Assembly working group for control over gaming business organization had a session where they discussed the situation formed in the region.
Putin stated none of governors will reject gaming zone 18.10.2007
All governors would like to have a gaming zone in their region, but it is up to them to arrange it in a civilized way. It was declared today by President of Russia Vladimir Putin in the course of the "direct line" with the Russians. The head of the state answered the question asked by a student from Vladivostok who was worried that it is planed to open a gaming zone in the Far East.
Gambling tax collections reducing fast 10.10.2007
According to the data of the Federal Treasury, as of September 1st, 2007, the collections of gambling tax were 21.3. billion rubles. In the event of any other tax such dynamics would mean that the annual plan of 30.2 billion rubles would be easily fulfilled, and regional budgets (which receive the gambling tax) would get the expected gains. But this situation is different.

Alimjan Tokhtakhunov, a famous businessman, is closing his Moscow casinos. The “Commersant” newspaper reports that in late summer 2007 Asia Casino in Olympiyski Prospect was closed, and his other two clubs, Europe in Strastnoy Boulevard and Metropol in Teatralny Proezd will also be closed.

In late 2006, after the adoption of the Law on the State Regulation of Gaming " four casinos zones were created in Russia. One of them is located on the border of Azov region of Rostov and Scherbinovsky area of Krasnodar. It will cover an area of 2,000 hectares: on the one thousand per each region. Rostov region has already bought the land.

Perm Gambling Development Association ceases its operations 09.08.2007
The Founders of Perm Gambling Development Association (PGDA) decided to close the organization, as «bc» was informed. According to former executive director of the Association Sergey Skotorenko, the decision was made mainly due to the pressure from legislative authorities and the introduction of tough rules which came into effect from July 1st, 2007.
