Construction of the gambling zone could be started from Azov sea shoreside near Port Katon
In late 2006, after the adoption of the Law on the State Regulation of Gaming " four casinos zones were created in Russia. One of them is located on the border of Azov region of Rostov and Scherbinovsky area of Krasnodar. It will cover an area of 2,000 hectares: on the one thousand per each region. Rostov region has already bought the land.
The authorities and representatives of gambling industry had different views on gambling zone location. In particular, Rostov gambling business infrastructure expressed the wish to create a zone in the federal M-4 "Don" highway. But the authorities had another opinion.
Administration Rostov region announced a contest to attract consulting company, which will study and prepare a plan for the development of turist recreational zone.
Results of the contest were announced a few days ago. The concept of gambling zone will be developed by a known American Company together with Moscow "BDO Yunikon Consulting."
The construction of gambling zone will start from Azov sea shoreside near Port Katon. Not much coast-protecting work will be required. Now The Don authorities are thinkinf of the opportunity to start construction on a pilot area by attracting an investor. The only evident thing is that by 2009, when all gaming establishment are to leave Rostov, the Azov-City will not be built.
