Tatarstan Government helps municipalities develop entrepreneurship
At the session of the Tatarstan Republic State Council Committee they discussed a bill on amending the RT Budget Code. Its essence lies in providing municipal regions and city districts with 30% of the tax revenues they collect from the single tax levied in connection with applying a simplified taxation system and a half of the gambling tax (the initiative of the latter provision is from Kamskiye Polyany town authorities). The corresponding amendments to the RT Budget Code are expected to come into effect from January 1st, 2008, and they are supposed to result in the transfer of 640.2 million rubles, of which 21.2 million rubles are gambling tax revenues, from the republican budget to the lower level.
Ilsur Safiullin, head of the Committee, explained to the parliament members that the partial transfer by the municipality of tax revenues will “strengthen their interest in entrepreneurship development at the local level”.
The Committee members approved the bill and recommended it for consideration in the first reading at the coming session of the Tatarstan State Council.
