Alimjan Tokhtakhunov closes his casinos in Moscow
Alimjan Tokhtakhunov, a famous businessman, is closing his Moscow casinos. The “Commersant” newspaper reports that in late summer 2007 Asia Casino in Olympiyski Prospect was closed, and his other two clubs, Europe in Strastnoy Boulevard and Metropol in Teatralny Proezd will also be closed.
The newspaper states that the information has been confirmed by Tokhtakhunov himself, claiming that Asia Casino was unprofitable. According to him, Europe and Metropol are also unprofitable but they “could have reached self-recoupment”.
Asia Casino was believed to be one of the most luxurious in Moscow. The owners had spent about $10 million for the interior only.
