In Karelia there is no law on gambling taxation yet
The legislation proposed by the republican Ministry of Finance provides for the increase of company property tax. It will let the republican budget be additionally replenished with over 24 million rubles. It is also supposed to increase the tax on private cars with the capacity below 100 horse-powers. The rate could have increased from 6 to 8 rubles per horse-power.
However, the deputies did not agree with the Ministry`s reasons. According to Vice Speaker Gennadiy Nechaev, the law does not differentiate between the taxes for agricultural enterprises and e.g. for gambling facilities. In his opinion, gambling should be taxed separately. After a long discussion the questionable legislation was unanimously rejected by the Committee members.
