Control over gambling operations toughened in Moscow
Prefectures of Moscow administrative districts have been entitled to decide on location, suspension and enforcement of legal compliance of gambling facilities within their territory, as “Interfax” was informed on Thursday by a source in the city administration. The spokesman told the agency that by the Moscow government judgment, Government gambling commission was transformed into Interagency gambling commission. Valeriy Vinogradov, Deputy Mayor in Moscow government on the issues of inter-regional collaboration, mass communications, sports and tourism, was assigned its Chairman.
“The interagency commission of the city government will retain the controlling and coordinating function, and the ordinance document vests power in administrative districts to regulate gaming business in their territories”, emphasized the spokesman.
According to him, “prefectures of administrative districts are entitled to decide on location, suspension and enforcement of legal compliance of gambling facilities within their territory taking into account the judgment of Moscow government interagency gambling commission”.
He remarked that it had been decided to make a special database of Interagency commission, which will include all the information on its activities and the activities of prefectures, decisions made and the course of their fulfillment, results of audits and lists of infringers.
