Russian casino attacker shot dead by police
VLADIVOSTOK, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - A visitor to a casino in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok was killed by police on Wednesday after he shot and wounded two people, a police spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the man had turned in a gas and an air pistol on entering the Hyundai casino and as he was leaving the hall, "he retrieved the weapons and opened fire."
Two people, a security guard and a police officer, were wounded during the attack.
Police tried to stop the shooter by firing into the air, but the man carried on shooting. "After that, a police officer fired at him and the bullet went through his chest," the spokeswoman said.
She said the attacker died in hospital, adding that his victims were in a stable condition and their injuries were not life-threatening.
