No place found for a gaming zone in Primorie region yet
It is still not determined where exactly Primorie`s gaming zone will be located. According to today`s “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” (in its issue called “Primorski Krai”), “the creation of Primorie`s Las Vegas has been delayed without date. The location of the would-be gaming zone has already been changed twice. And now even the talks about it have fallen into oblivion.” The newspaper specifies: “Initially it was planned to arrange the gaming zone in Muravjinaya Bay… Primorie residents were shown prototypes of future hotels, casinos and parks in Muravjinaya but then, suddenly, there appeared an idea to develop Russkiy Island and to build the gaming zone there. However, the matter is that the place is within the territory of Vladivostok, i.e. at least one requirement is not observed. But, according to Michail Tersky, the head of Pacific Centre of Strategic Developments, the refusal to build casinos on the island is explained not by this fact but by the idea of arranging Far East Federal University there. And besides, by the large scope of work due to APEC summit to be held on the island in 2012.”
