Olympic Casino opens its 8th casino in Lithuania

On 1 January 2006 Olympic Casino Group Baltija opened its 8th casino in Lithuania. The new facility - Olympic Casino Babilonas – is located in the shopping and entertainment centre Babilonas in the town of Panevezys.

The new Olympic casino has more than 400 square meters of floor space and cost over LTL 4 million. It has 3 gambling tables, including a roulette table, and 32 slotmachines with unlimited winnings.

According to casino manager Jūratė Svaldenienė, the new casino will employ a staff of more than 30.

“This is another step taken by our company in this new region,” says Gintaras Grybenas, General Manager of Olympic Casino Group Baltija. “We expect the visitors of the Northern part of Lithuania to appreciate our high quality entertainment services.”

Olympic Casino invested over LTL 10 million in new projects in Vilnius and Panevezys last year.

Each Olympic casino follows a different theme: the Olympic casino in Kaunas follows the theme of ancient Egypt, the one in Klaipeda is modelled as a paradise while the Olympic casinos in Vilnius feature the themes of art of ancient theatre, Hawaii, Arabian fairy tales and Antique Greece.

“Our casino in Panevezys is located in the entertainment and trade center Babilonas,” says Jūratė Svaldenienė. “The interior of the casino was designed by the famous Valerijus Starkovskis under the theme of ancient Babylon.”

In the foyer of the new casino visitors are met by a fountain where water ripples from ancient jugs and the walls of the casino are decorated with frescos and drawings that depict ancient legends. The florists have created impressive flower compositions that depict one of the world’s greatest miracles – the suspended gardens of ancient Babylon.
