The gaming business of Rostov region survived
The workgroup of the Legislative Assembly of Rostov region decided to turn down the project of the regional law “On banning activities involved in gambling organization and arrangement within Rostov region”, which passed 1st reading on June 6th
Except the deputies of Don’s Parliament the workgroup includes the regional Minister of economics Victor Deriabkin, the assistant of regional public prosecutor Irina Cherkasova, gaming business representatives and the placement service members. The sitters discussed three variants of industry regulation: prohibition of all gaming business from the 1st of January 2008, prohibition of slots-operations form the 1st of January or industry operation within the limits of the Federal Law.
During the meeting it was mentioned, that at the moment there 4 thousand employed in the regional industry, and 80% of them are citizens younger than 30. Majority of them went through special professional trainings. That means gaming business prohibition from the 1st of January 2008 will deprive them of their social payments and savings. In case of adopting this law almost all employees can become unemployed. As the result all the participants of the working group decided that regional gaming properties can work in compliance with the Federal Law implemented on 1st of January 2007. Nevertheless the law machinery was recommended to toughen the control over its execution.
