Novosibirsk region: gambling facilities brought 170mn rubles to budget
Gambling facilities of Novosibirsk region have brought 170mn rubles of collections to the regional budget from the beginning of the year, informs Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Department of the region. According to their spokesperson, it is estimated that by the end of the year the overall amount of tax collections from gaming business operations to the regional budget will have made 540mn rubles.
At present there are 46 gambling facilities and clubs and 187 slot halls in the region. Some time ago the deputy head of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Department of the region Nickolay Simonov reported that the regional authorities were not raising the question of pre-schedule termination of casino and gaming house operations within the region. “We are still sticking to the following: not to make the date of gaming business termination closer and fulfill the federal gambling law within the timeframes it provides for”, he said.
According to the legislation adopted by the RF State Duma late in 2006, all gambling facilities must terminate their operations in the regions from July 1st, 2009, and get relocated to one of the four “federal” zones. In Siberia, such a zone is located in Altay region.
