Novosibirsk inhabitants will still play
It was announced yesterday by Nickolay Simonov, the deputy head of the regional Industry and Entrepreneurship Department. “The Federal Law “On state regulations involved in gambling organization and arrangement and on amending some of the RF legislative regulations” will come into effect in Novosibirsk region according to the terms it stipulates for”, emphasizes Mr Simonov. He says that now it is hard to state how many gambling facilities in Novosibirsk region will comply with the law requirements by July 1st, 2007. He remarks that the law unambiguously states that slot machines shall be installed in slot halls only, therefore from July 1st, 2007, single slot machines will not operate in the region. According to him, in Novosibirsk region there are about 5 thousand slot machines all in all. In the first quarter of the current year Novosibirsk region received 170mn rubles of gambling tax revenues.
