Russian southern gaming zone to outshine Monte Carlo
As reported by the press service of Krasnodar region administration, according to experts` data, “the new casino city is planned for 100 thousand residents, and 2 thousand hectares have been allotted for its construction – ten times more than the area of Monte Carlo”.
It is noted that at the commercial property exhibition MIPIM-2007 in Cannes a number of foreign investors showed interest in building casinos and hotels in the casino city on the border between these two RF constituent territories.
Officials of Kuban and Rostov regional administrations believe that some clubs and casinos of Saint-Petersburg, Moscow and Moscow region and of large cities in the European part of Russia will be relocated to their gaming zone.
”They will bring investments in the regions, and a brand new business. It will result in prosperity growth of the people living in these areas, and in population`s business activity enhancement”, the press service emphasized.
By 2009 in Russia there will be four places for legal gaming business to operate. Special territories will be allotted for casinos and slot machines – outside residential areas. One of them will be situated on the border between Kuban and Rostov region.
However, the Association of Gambling Operators of the Southern Federal Territory appealed to Rostov administration to transfer the creation of the gaming zone from the area of Port-Caton village to the area of Tsukerova Balka hamlet. As the Association`s letter reads, “the transfer of the gaming zone will make it possible to reduce regional budget expenses for building the gaming zone infrastructure several times, and it will secure that the gaming zone facilities are put into operation within the timeframes provided by the law”.
