In Krasnoyarsk region they passed a gambling ban
Vsevolod Sevastianov, a deputy of the regional Legislative Assembly, says that it was declared at the session of the Assembly. “Deputies of the regional parliament finally passed the law “On banning activities involved in gambling organization and arrangement within the region”. 29 from 31 deputies voted for the adoption of the law in the second reading”, reports Sevastianov.
According to the deputies, after the law had been adopted in the first reading, they received appeals from the regional Gambling Operators Association, national Bookmakers` Association, regional Manufacturers and Businessmen Union advocating the gaming business.
The legislation was elaborated after the adoption of the Federal Law enabling regions to develop and pass local laws banning activities involved in gambling organization and arrangement till July 1st, 2007.
After the law “On banning activities involved in gambling organization and arrangement within the region” was passed in the first reading on January 25th, Governor of the region Alexander Khloponin claimed that he would sign it the day it was adopted in the second reading.
