The State Council of Udmurtia proposed to ban gaming as soon as this year
On February 27th, during the session of Udmurtia State Council, they will look into the draft of the new republic gaming law. As it was stated today by Victor Kushko, Head of permanent deputy Industry Committee of Udmurtia State Council, it concerns a complete ban on all kinds of gambling organization and arrangement in the republic from July 1st, 2007.
Let us remind you that from July 1st, 2009, the Russian law is prohibiting operations of gambling facilities everywhere around Russia but for the four special zones. However, the regions are entitled to close these organizations as soon as on July 1st, 2007. Udmurtia State Council was proposed to go this way. Still, Victor Kushko says it is not improbable that individual deputies will advocate large facilities and be able to secure 2 more years of life for them.
Pursuant to the law, from July 1st, 2007, they will allow operations of only those gambling facilities which comply with the following requirements: they are not located in residential buildings, a casino size is no less than 800 sqm for 10 gaming tables, the size of other facilities is no less than 100 sqm fir 50 slot machines. Besides, all gaming equipment – i.e. tables and slot machines – shall be owned by the facility. Another conditio sine qua non for casinos and the like is to have no less than 600mln rubles of net assets.
