Moscow City Duma intends to introduce changes to the gaming business law to reduce the number of gambling facilities
Moscow City Duma indents to introduce changes to the city law on gaming business to reduce the number of gambling facilities in the capital. At today’s press conference Moscow City Duma Chairman Vladimir Platonov announced that these changes will be considered at a special session on December 21st, 2006.
According to V. Platonov, in the draft of the document it is planned to close all casinos the area of which is less than 3 000 square metres. Besides, in a casino there shall be no less than 30 gaming tables, a restaurant, a currency exchange, and a security spot. The area of a slot location shall be at least 200 square metres. There shall be no less than 60 slot machines, a security spot, a toilet and a metal detector at the entrance.
As it was emphasized by Joseph Ordjonikidze, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on international and external economic links, about 30 casinos and about 220 slot locations must be left in Moscow.
