Gaming Business Association asks everybody concerned with maintaining of civilized gaming business in Russia for cooperation

Tkachev chose a place for the gaming zone on the coast of the Azov Sea, a new town of 40-50 thousand inhabitants will appear there

Governor of Krasnodar Region, Alexander Tkachev, estimates that a new town of 40-50 thousand inhabitants will appear on the coast of the Azov Sea, and it will be a new gaming zone.

"The site has already been chosen. For the present it is a deserted place on the coast of the Azov Sea,” Tkachev told to an ITAR-TASS correspondent. He said that now the Azov coast is not lived-in, not adapted for living, without any infrastructure.

"Hopefully the decision to place a gaming zone in Krasnodar region will help us to attract funds and create new employment opportunities, but we will pay taxes as well,” remarked Governor. "It will be a new town, of 40-50 thousand inhabitants,” forecasts Tkachev.

As it was previously announced by the first Vice-Governor of Krasnodar Region, Alexander Remezkov, the amount of investments in setting up a federal gaming zone on the borderline between Krasnodar and Rostov regions will be over 60 billion rubles. “The state will invest at least 12 billion rubles in making the infrastructure of the zone,” he specified. It concerns building a highway and a gas pipe line from the district centre of Staroshcherbinovskaya to the gaming zone, as well as a water pipe and other engineering services directly in the zone area. Moreover, the Russian Railways are planning to lay a branch line from Shcherbinovsky part of the railway to the Azov Sea port Cadosh and further to Rostov-on-Don. Money of private investors will be used to build an aerodrome for smaller aviation capable of receiving tens of private planes and helicopters.

One of the four Russian gaming zones will occupy the area of one thousand hectares and be located at the juncture of Shcherbinovski /Krasnodar region/ and Azovski /Rostov region/ districts. The site is distanced from the nearest residential areas at least for 10 km and situated in the nether land.

According to Vice-Governor Evgeniy Muraviev, responsible for tourism in the administration of Krasnodar region, “setting up a gaming zone will give an impetus to developing natural resorts.” “Hotels and restaurants will grow in the nether land soon”, he said, emphasizing that “Krasnodar region, in its turn, is ready to invest in this project under the conditions of self-financing”.

Within the territory of Krasnodar region 14 644 thousand gaming business objects are registered, and almost 99% of them are slot machines. Since the beginning of this year this business has already transferred 911 million rubles of taxes – 184 million more than for the whole year of 2005.
