Land prices zoom in the area of Altay gaming zone
In Solonovka, a village in Altay, which if in the area of the gaming and resort zone-to-be, there is a dramatic rise in prices for houses and land plots, according to the “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
Houses, which rose in price from 100 to 400 thousand rubles, are being bought up by the newly-arrived from other regions of Russia. Over the 9 days of 2007, the village administration received 60 applications for land plots for cottages and tourist centres, and it made the authorities appoint the first land auction in the village history for April 2007.
However, the “AMITEL” agency declares, the village authorities’ land rights are limited and apply only to residential areas, as well as to the redistribution fund, till the year 2010. Gaming zone plots will be allocated from the latter, but, as the exact borders of the zone are still unknown, applications to rent land plots exactly in the gaming zone have not been submitted so far.
They have started installing cellular communication towers in January. In particular, it is planned to install a Beeline tower in Solonovka.
The gaming zone is supposed to be set up in the territory of Smolenski district, Altay region, 22 kilometres away from Solonovka. At present there are about two thousand residents in the village.
