Primorie will allot Cherepakha in the bay of Muravjinaya for casinos
Governor of Primorie region, Sergey Darkin allotted Cherepakha Cape in the area of the Muravjinaya bay for gaming zone construction, “Interfax” informs. Thus, casinos will be located 80 kilometres away from Vladivostok. Building a road and cape infrastructure will take 15bn rubles in 2008. In Darkin’s opinion, the gaming zone in Primorie will have a positive influence on economics of the entire Far East. He also declares that the region is experienced in launching similar projects, and its proximity to Asia-Pacific countries will contribute to the success of the project. “We are ready to take into account the experience and knowledge of world leaders in this sphere, it refers to the service and security and legality provision as well,” Governor remarks.
According to the presidential legislation already approved by the State Duma, four gaming zones are supposed to be set up in Russia: in Kaliningrad, Altay and Primorie regions and within the borderline territory between Rostov and Krasnodar regions. Under the law, all gaming institutions but for bookmakers’ offices shall be relocated to these zones. Casino operations outside gaming zones will be illegal from July 1st, 2009.
