From July 1st, 2007, gaming business in Krasnoyarsk region will be completely banned
Deputies of Krasnoyarsk region Legislative Assembly intend to completely ban operations of all gambling facilities, with no exceptions, within the region from July 1st, 2007. Yesterday reporters were informed about it by Alexander Uss, spokesman of the Legislative Assembly. He reminded that in summer 2006 “the regional law on it was passed but the lack of the corresponding federal law did not let us take firm actions to fight gaming business”.
"Now there is such a law. And thus, the spokesman emphasized, we strongly recommend owners of gambling locations to be more active in investing their funds in development of sport facilities and theatres, as well as in other good deeds. And we recommend risk-lovers to get ready for travelling to Altay region where they have started to build the gaming zone nearest to us”.
The final decision on banning operations of casinos, slot machine parlours and other similar institutions within the region is planned to be made by deputies of the Legislative Assembly during their next session, on January 25th. Uss believes that the legislation “will get maximum support of deputies”.
