Moscow gambling facilities awaiting inspection results
Be reminded that Moscow authorities have set up an inspection committee headed by Valeriy Ivanov, a Moscow Government representative. It includes officials of the city administration, Russian Agency for Consumer Rights, the militia, the tax inspection and the fire inspection. The main inspection parameter is the compliance of slot halls and casinos with the new legislative requirements.
Initially the inspection was planned to take place everywhere but in fact it turned out to be different. “Indeed, by March 15th all inspections must have been completed, - Vice President of Gambling Operators Association Evgeniy Kovtun confirmed to Strana.ru, - however, as far as I know, they concerned only a part of gambling facilities, i.e. they were “spot checks”. Many properties included in our Association were not visited by the inspection at all”. As for the inspection results, according to Mr Kovtun, Moscow authorities promised not to close any gambling facilities till July 1st. “Everybody was given a right to proceed with their operations, regardless of the inspection`s conclusion, - informed Vice President of Gambling Operators Association, - but after July 1st, when the provisions of the law “On state regulation of activities involved in gambling organization and arrangement” come into effect, as we estimate, about at least 300 slot halls of the 800 and 20 casinos of the 49 will be closed. Therefore all of us are now waiting fro this moment”.
